Rick Henderson, 74, a resident of Thunder Bay, Ontario, passed away peacefully at TBRHSC with family by his side on December 24, 2024. Rick was born in Fort William on June 4, 1950 to Murial and Peter Henderson. Rick grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario where he worked as an Electrician at Confederation College and owned/operated Henderson Electric. He married his wife of 41 years and had 2 daughters Hilary and Hailey.
Rick enjoyed spending time at the camp he built on Eaglehead Lake. This was a special place for friends and family to gather and spend time together. He would spend as much time as possible with his daughters and their friends, taking them boating and fishing, tubing and swimming at the beach. Rick was a character, he was always there when you needed a hand with a project, tools, or opinion, wanted or otherwise.
Ricks pride and joy was his furry companion Brady and his granddaughter, Oaklynn. He took his last family trip earlier this year just so he could show Oaklynn Mexico and spend time with family in another favourite place.
Rick is survived by his wife, Diane, their two children, Hilary (Dustin) and Hailey (Lucas) and his granddaughter Oaklynn. He leaves behind his brothers Brian and Bruce and their families.
We would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at 4B Cardiovascular Unit Toronto General Hospital for all their care as well as the Team at the TBRHSC for making his last moments comfortable.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
