Mary Jane Kimball (November 29th, 1953 – February 6th, 2025), a resident of Thunder Bay, Ontario passed away after a 15-year battle with cancer.
Mary Jane Kimball is a graduate of Lakehead University and Confederation College as she studied Indigenous Learning and Bookkeeping respectively. MJ held various employment positions applying her education including bookkeeping, counselling, and tech support. She also had many volunteering adventures with Memo and her church.
Mary Jane has a passion for numerous crafts such as diamond painting, knitting and bead work. She loved reading books including non-fiction and her Bible. Shopping and collecting was a huge part of her pastime as she loved to spoil her grandchildren as well as her loved ones. She was also very active in helping fellow cancer patients feel loved and supported. MJ lived a life full of obstacles and hardships that never dulled her sparkle, it shined in each life she touched.
She is survived by her three children John (Brittany), Crystal (Byounghyun), and Michelle (Preston) and her four grandchildren: Terra, Heidi, Blaze and Clark. She is also survived by her three siblings Barry (Marilyn), Vernon (Rita), and Alan as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Hazel, and siblings: Linda, Anne, and Rick.
Funeral Services will be held at Blake’s Funeral Chapel located at 200 South May St on Wednesday, February 12th, at 10:00am. Interment will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Fort William First Nation. Visitation will be held at the Blake Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, February 11th, from 6:00 – 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation (they did a fantastic job taking care of her).
