Mr. Oliver Kiiskila, age 88, of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully with his devoted wife by his side.
Born on June 18, 1936 in Port Arthur, he was employed as a trucker at various companies and last with Trimac, retiring after 23 years with them.
He did three years of military service in the PPCLI 13 CO. Service Corps, First Battalion October 1953 until October 1956.
Survived by wife Marg Kiiskila of 23 years of marriage, son Mike Kiiskila (Jen), grandchildren Olivia, Lukah, Mia and Brynley of Medicine Hat, AB, step-children Joleen Hanson, grandchildren Aly and Wynter of Barrie, ON, Rob Hanson (Mel) of Australia, grandson Drew; also many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his late wife Joyce Kiiskila, children Andrew and Heather, sister Pila Patkau; parents John and Hilda (nee Kouppinen) Kiiskila of Finland, who lived in Thunder Bay and Nipigon.
Cremation has taken place and as per Oliver’s request, no memorial service will be held; just go out for coffee with a friend.
