It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Aiden James “AJ” Frenette (Thunder Bay, Ontario), who was born April 14th, 2002 and passed away on August 18, 2024, at the age of 22.

Aiden had a great sense of humour and an amazing laugh. He will be remembered for his passion for skateboarding, hunting, hockey, his love of clothing, especially True Religion, Champion and Nike.

Aiden loved to take road trips and would often take over the stereo to play his rap music. He truly loved visiting big cities and was fascinated by skyscrapers.

He was an animal lover, and despite his allergies to them, Aiden was great with all of the family cats and dogs.

Aiden was known in the family for his love of fast food and could often be heard saying he “needed a pack of fries from Don’s”.

Aiden had a big heart and was quick to forgive. His smile was contagious, and he loved to tease. Aiden had an extensive knowledge of history and had a unique perspective on the world.

Growing up Aiden was extremely close with his late papa Jim and his Nana Lorraine (Frenette) and his late Papa Jerry and late Baba Mary (Waplak).

Aiden spent his life surrounded by a very large family who are devastated by his passing.

Aiden is survived by his mother Jodie Frenette, brother Caelen Frenette, Uncle Realle, Auntie Flo and their sons Lars, Chase, Spencer and Tristan Frenette, Auntie Cassy, Uncle Jeff and their sons Walker and Burke Bernard, Uncle Jeff Frenette and his daughters Julia Turk-Frenette, Alicia Turk-Frenette, her partner Zac Krause and their son Theo, his Auntie Dobi-Dawn Frenette and his Nana Lorraine Frenette, who he shared a very special relationship with, father Bradley Waplak, Auntie Tina, Uncle Darrin and their daughters Ashley and Alysa Milani, and his bonus Nana Johanne.

Aiden will be missed by his very large extended family and close friends who he called his brothers.
