With great sadness and heartache, the family of Miss Alyssa Turnbull, age 29 years, announce her passing. After three hard years of searching for our angel, she was found and recovered on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

Alyssa was born at McKellar Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ontario on February 26, 1994 to Debra Otway and Kevin Turnbull. She loved animals as well as the outdoors and nature, whether it be on the lake or walking trails, or sledding, having bonfires, camping and fishing. She had a passion for music and would often just drive around listening to her favourite songs. Alyssa truly loved life and all of the people in it. She had a huge heart, was kind and would help anyone in need. Alyssa's amazing sense of humour and goofiness will always be remembered. She had a true gift for making those around her laugh and smile, and for bringing joy to her family and friends.

Alyssa will be missed by her loving parents, Debra Otway and Kevin Turnbull (Robin Patkau); her siblings Andrew Otway, Jewelea Otway (Adrian Ettienne) and Jonathon Turnbull; step-siblings Kirsten, Taylor, Autumn Wawia and Abbi Wawia as well as Aunts and Uncles, Cyndi Otway, Bonnie (Russ) Greer, Terri (Sam) Otway; cousins Bryce Otway, Kim Matheson, Allison Greer and August Otway, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her beloved grandparents and her uncle Bill Pritchard.

We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude and appreciation to the OPP for the endless support and countless hours investigating and searching for Alyssa, never giving up hope that she would come home to us. No words can express how grateful we are to all of you.

A Celebration of Alyssa's life will be held in June, 2024 with details to be announced. Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
