Andrew Byron McKnight, 45 years old, passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2023 at TBRHSC, surrounded by his family. He was born in Calgary, Alberta and moved to Marathon, Ontario as a youth. He loved his community and working alongside his father as a Plumber with McKnight Plumbing, servicing communities along the Northshore of Lake Superior.
Andrew is survived by parents John and Marion McKnight, sister Paula McKnight, nephew Austin Govan, niece Mackenzie Govan, brother John McKnight, and nephews Samuel & Eli McKnight and their mother Denita Davis. Andrew was a proud father and will be loved and forever missed by his children Cierra & Sawyer McKnight and their mother Rachel Godin, along with his four-legged fishing buddy Cedar and many family and friends.
Andrew was a comedian who had no boundaries, he kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humour in most circumstances. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Andrew. He enjoyed camping at White Lake, had a great passion for fishing and loved to tell a good joke!
The family would like to thank the medical teams at TBRHSC and Wilson Memorial Hospital for their efforts and support.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association at [email protected] or Wilson Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
