On Thursday, August 24, 2023, Tony died peacefully after a long and debilitating illness.
He was born in Kenora, Ontario on December 02, 1969 and shortly thereafter, was adopted by the Smith family of Thunder Bay.
Art came naturally to him and sketching the landscape around him brought him much pleasure. As a young teenager, and full of curiosity, he left Thunder Bay to travel to eastern Ontario and west to British Columbia settling in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, his home for thirty years.
Tony had an independent spirit going his own way, doing his own thing, and living by his own rules.
He died on his own terms in Nanaimo General Hospital, surrounded by a nucleus of family and friends who loved him.
