Mr. Carson Anton Halstead, age 81, resident of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully at TBRHSC with family by his side on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Born on September 28, 1942 in Port Arthur, he was raised and educated in Current River and attended Lakeview high school. He was mainly employed as an Oiler with Abitibi Provincial Paper and retired after 32 years of service. Carson mainly enjoyed fishing with his sons and his friends but had many and varied hobbies. He was a member of 'The Mighty Warriors' pain therapy group where he made many good friends.
Carson is survived by his wife of 56 years Isabel, his son Ryan of Saskatchewan, his brothers Lance Halstead (Patti) of Fort Francis and Rod Halstead (Allison) of Kingston, his sisters-in-law Catriona Christiansen and Heather Cumming of Thunder Bay. He was survived by his nieces Kimberly Woodbeck, Doreen Dunbar, Allison Pringle, Tiffany Halstead, Kelly Cumming and Michelle Halstead. He was survived by his nephews Doug Pringle, Billy Pringle, Gary Halstead, Christopher Halstead and Robert Cumming, as well as good friends Theresa Graham, Kathy Neil, Sharon Valila and many others.
Carson was predeceased by his loving sons David and Andrew, his parents George and Minnie Halstead, his in-laws Doug and Agnes Pringle and good friends and brothers-in-law Doug (Jo-Anne) and Bill (Nancy) Pringle and nephew Steven Pringle, as well as many more close friends and extended family.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 11:00 A.M. at Lakeview Presbyterian with Rev. Arsenealt officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to Paws for Love or Kitty Kare would be greatly appreciated, as Carson was such an animal lover.
