It is with great sorrow that the family of Daniel Wiwcharuk announce his passing. Dan passed away peacefully the morning of December 25th, 2024. Born December 3, 1927 in Rhein Saskatchewan living 97 fulfilling years. Dan was a loving husband, father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Great Great Grandfather and most of all a good friend to many. He retired in his 60’s from the Canadian Grain Commission. He loved the outdoors whether it was puttering in the garden, skiing, fishing, or hunting with his son and brothers in Saskatchewan. In his younger years living in Thompson Manitoba, Danny was a member of the Manitoba game and fish where he was a hunter safety instructor, and well known in the Manitoba target shooting community.
After retiring, Danny was not only a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox of Saint Volodymyr Parish of All Saints, but a helper in many ways from church services to making perogies weekly.
Danny will be deeply missed by his daughter Deb Wall, son Wes (Lucy), Audrey Sturharn (David), Glen Skarra (Eve). Siblings: sister Ann Alexander and Pearl Cherneske. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Danny was predeceased by his wife, Claudia, parents Ann and Alex Wiwcharuk, sisters, Alexandria, and Marie, brothers Steve, Nick, Sydney, Mike and Wasyl. Numerous family members and recently son-in-law Jack Wall.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11 AM at Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Brodie Street.
