It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth “Betty” Sheedy (Davis) announces her passing on Friday, July 21st, 2023. Mum fought a valiant fight against the insidious Alzheimer's. Her devoted pets Zoey, Pring, Hope and the Bothersome Bailey remained by her side until the very end. Through it all, her devoted and loving daughter, Dawne ensured that Mum had the absolute best quality of care and life.
Betty attended #1 school in Murillo and then Selkirk high school. She was so proud to be a part of the OPP where she began her career in 1961 and retired in 1999 as a Financial Administrative Assistant.
Betty married Larry Sheedy and raised their three children. Mum loved spending time with her family, knitting fabulous scarves for everyone and eating icecream with her great grandchildren as well as many special trips and adventures with sister-in-law Evelyn.
Betty is survived by her children Maureen (Arvid), Sean (Tamara) and Dawne; Grandchildren Cayla (Mark), Cassandra, Cody, Nathan and Skylar (Faith); Her sister-in-law Evelyn Davis and siblings Vernon (Shirley) Davis, Valerie (Terry) Morrow, Clifford Davis, and Gayle Ross (Scott predeceased); Great grand-children Tessa and MJ as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Silvia and Gilbert Davis, husband Larry Sheedy, brother Ronald Davis and sister-in-law Ilene Davis.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 at 11:00am at St. James Anglican Church (John Street Rd at Calvert) in Murillo, ON. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Thunder Bay Alzheimer's Society in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
