With great sadness, the family announces the passing of Pamela Maxine Carter (Sholter) (born September 7th, 1957) on July 14th, 2023, after a short hard-fought battle with cancer.

A long-time resident of Thunder Bay, Pam spent her career working for the City of Thunder Bay at Grandview Lodge, Pioneer Ridge, and Dawson Court. During her working days, she spent many enjoyable times in Texas and summer camping on Lake Nipigon in preparation for her retirement. When she did retire, Texas became her second home. She enjoyed watching the food channel and Home and Garden shows which inspired her delicious home-cooked meals. Pam was a thoughtful and generous person who loved having friends and family around her to feed and entertain. She loved giving gifts and would go out of her way to make the people around her feel loved.

Pamela will be lovingly remembered by her husband Lorne, daughter Angela, stepdaughters Lorie, Sherrie (Brad) and Debbie (Kevin), daughter-in-law Ashley Dawn Carter and sisters Diane (Gary) Weiss and Deana McGogy. Brothers Derek (Dorothy) Carter, Lawrence Carter, David (Joan) McGogy, and Bobby (Sherri) McGogy. Also, survived by her very much-loved grandchildren Madison, Roddy, Arianna, Hope, Ashtyn, Jacob, Messiah, Avery, Carter, Mackenzie, and Morgan.

Predeceased by her parents George and Maxine Carter, stepmother Dorothy McGogy, brother Randy, sister-in-law Judy and son Clinton.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 29th, at the Oliver Road Rec Centre from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Thunder Bay Regional Cancer Foundation or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
