Our mom and grandmother, Mrs. Rena Kirychuk, age 92, passed away, October 27, 2023. Rena passed peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital with family by her side.
She was born on April 20, 1931 in Chesley, Ontario. She married the love of her life William Kirychuk, an OPP Officer, where they spent 20 years throughout Northern Ontario before being stationed permanently in Thunder Bay. She was an accomplished musician, having achieved her ARCT Diploma through the University of Toronto. She passed her appreciation of music on to her students, children and grandchildren. Rena will be remembered for many things but especially for her love of family, her strong faith, and her sense of humour.
She is survived by her children, David (Janice) Kirychuk, Katharine (Craig) Serediak, grandchidren, Matthew Kirychuk (Dr Anita Avesta), Mary (Paul) Presenger, Jamie Kirychuk (Tara Firth); Stefan Serediak, Alexandra Serediak (Isaac Becker), great grandchildren Hugh and Nikita Kirychuk.
A private celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2024. Thank you to the nurses and staff on 4S St. Joseph’s Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated.
