With deep sadness, the family of Tanya Hladysh announce her passing on October 11, 2023, just two weeks after celebrating her 95th birthday. Our mother dedicated her life to her family, her church, and in service to others, and especially enjoyed giving assistance to veterans and their widows with regard to pensions and services. Her efforts were appreciated by many.
Remembering her with love are her children, David (Joyce), Carla Poluyko, and Megan (Herb) Mermans, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Catheline Orok, and Stan & Tony Korol, and their families, as well as many other relatives.
Mom was greeted in heaven by her husband and son, Peter and Bill Hladysh, her grandson, Eric Mermans, son-in-law Ed Poluyko, as well as many dear relatives gone before her.
We extend our deepest gratitude to mom’s doctor, Steve Klassen and staff, for their care and friendship over so many years, and to the Palliative Team on 4N at St. Joe’s who cared so kindly for mom during her short stay there. To family and friends who have supported us with cards and kind words, food, flowers, memories, and support, you mean the world to us all.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 11:00 am in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, celebrated by Msgr. P.M. Stilla. Interment to follow in St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery. For those who choose, donations to our local Northern Cancer Fund or a charity that touches your heart would make mom happy. Arrangements entrusted to the Blake Funeral Chapel, 200 May Street S.
“I carry your heart with me. I carry it in my heart.”
