William Robert Babiak (Bill) born on May 23,1943 in Fort William, Ontario, passed away unexpectedly in his home on August 6, 2024. His wife Marilyn Patricia “Pat” Babiak (Nee Polhill) predeceased him on December 20, 2022 after 44 years of marriage.
Bill and Pat had a trailer out at Youmans Lodge on Arrow Lake for much of the 1990’s where they enjoyed many years together by the lake and socializing with the many friends there.
Bill retired from The Ministry of Transportation and Communications in Thunder Bay, Ontario in 1998 where he worked as a Highway Traffic Analyst.
After retirement, he and his late wife Pat, moved to Chilliwack, BC where they both enjoyed the church, volunteering and many years travelling to many countries all over the world together.
Survived by his two step-children Jennifer (Lynn) Thomson of Chilliwack, BC, Brian Thomson of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and step-grandson James Thomson of Barrie, Ontario.
He was preceded in death by his parents Michael Babiak and Mary (Chehowy) Babiak; his sisters, Elizabeth (John) Stokaluk, Anne (Tom) Palyga, and brother John (Rita) Babiak.
He will be missed, but now joins his wife and the rest of his family for eternity.
